I volunteered on a marine and land conservation project in Koh Tao, Thailand. The resources on the island have come under increasing threat from rapid, unregulated and unsustainable development so the work I carried out in this conservation project was rewarding, challenging and hugely beneficial to conservation efforts. Key responsibilities included conducting sustainable living awareness campaigns, carrying out beach clean ups and coral reef surveys and working with the local school to help raise awareness of the importance of conservation. Tasked with the management of multiple teams effective communication and operational team efficiency was vital throughout.
